Maria lives in an apartment in beautiful Majorstua with her boyfriend. Keynotes for the apartment they share are calming colors and a mix of old and new. We stopped by Maria on a sunny Friday and enjoyed some delicious croissants while the sun was shining through the living room window.

The living room is filled with records, which adds up to her music interest, and also her part-time job which is DJing. She has been a part of the DJ duo Seaweed girls since 2016, and has a bachelor's degree in special education and a master's degree in speech therapy! She has lived in the apartment for exactly 5 years, and finally feels like everything is falling into place.

WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE ROOM?
I would say my favorite room at the moment is the living room. Because I have spent the most time getting everything from lights, colors, and practicalities to fit together, it finally feels like it is falling into place.

HOW WOULD YOU DESCRIBE YOUR INTERIOR STYLE?
I would describe my interior style as colorful and fun with a good mixture of new and vintage/old.

WHAT WILL NEVER ENTER YOUR APARTMENT?

Quote art like «Live, love, laugh» will never enter my apartment.

WHAT ARE YOUR BEST TIPS FOR CREATING A MORE PERSONAL HOME?

Take your time collecting pieces from trips and adventures you’ve been on. I love interior pieces with a good story behind them!

WHERE DO YOU FIND INSPIRATION?

I find my inspiration through Instagram, my workplace, travels, and YouTube!

WHAT'S YOUR FAVOURITE ITEM IN THE APARTMENT?
My favorite item in the apartment is the Helle Mardal vase. It adds something unique and fun to the room. And I am obsessed with the organic shape!

“My interior style is colorful and fun with a good mixture of new and vintage/old. We have implemented some bold colors but some of the rooms are more neutral with accent colors. My home very much reflects both me and my boyfriend. We want our guests to feel welcome and and the space to feel open and warm"
